Hvar, Croatia
Today was another early start, to catch the ferry to the island of Hvar, but again the views of the green hills rolling down in the clear, blue ocean as we went past more than made up for it.
Hvar is another beautiful island, and Hvar, where we were based was also lovely. Similar again to Korcula and Dubrovnik, but more glamorous with a more up-market marina, with some very nice yachts moored there. Hvar would become one of my favourite places on this trip, and certainly the most relaxing.
Our guest house was a little way out of town, but lovely – spotlessly clean, with whitewashed walls inside, and comfy but old/classic furniture. The bathrooms were straight out of the 70’s – one was avocado green, and the other was brown. Me and Kayla, and Karen and Louise, and also Sheryn all stayed there – all the girls together.
That afternoon, Kayla, Karen, Ben, Sheryn and myself went on a half day boat trip out around some of the islands. It was a combination of sailing time and time moored for swimming – either at a beach or for us to jump off the boat. There was also a long break for lunch, at a lovely restaurant overlooking a gorgeous bay. The whole afternoon was perfect – the sun shone, the water was warm, clear and very blue, and the islands we visited were beautiful. It was all very relaxing.
